VS 9SEP W6
So today in Visual story class we discussed the two main components of visualising a story
1) Idea
2) Execution
We discussed films like Pink, Andhadhun and how there is an underlying conditioning that is played with, for instance play with one of the most integral emotions of the society. We studied the structure of building block which comprised of,
An idea
Question ( what is it about, who is it about and where does it take place?)
Basics- observation, exploration of views
Collaborate- to get a third party’s thought upon your idea and to understand what is playing on the minds of the audience.
It is of crucial importance that we stop thinking about what’s projecting in our heads and try to understand is the audience really taking to it, there was a well written quote in the presentation today which said,” Audience can only see and experience what you show on the screen, not what’s in your head”
There shouldn’t be a battle between your intentions and your executions.
What I also took away from this lecture is to make characters who’s characteristics make them immortal, for example Jai, Veeru, Thakur.
Also from today onwards I’m going to watch one film or atleast an episode from a series and keep a log of it, we need to constantly think visuals and what’s better than having such homework? Following below are few notes that will help my above description better, stay tuned for more such updates:)
