DF 27AUG W5.1
So today in drawing foundation class we reviewed our fourth week’s drawing assignment which was study of complex objects, we then went around the campus and drew interesting compositions in perspective of whatever we saw.
The first perspective drawing that we did was of a hallway in ISDI, through this exercise I understood the purpose of spacing and how to achieve exactly the correct space by understanding proportions, I also understood the importance of depth and how I could achieve it by simply using thick and thin lines. The second composition was of a huge glass wall/ window through which I could see other buildings outside, this exercise helped me understand how things composed together are in different perspectives yet the vanishing and horizon line stays constant.
Up next was another hallway where we stood at a midpoint composing a view of two hallways going in two different directions, this was quite tricky as something that I see at the corner of my eye is very difficult to get on paper, perspectives get distorted and it’s difficult to comprehend.
This exercise helped me to understand perspectives practically and now I can draw whatever I see, for the next class we are supposed to get two images of interesting perspective composition.
