So today
we were introduced to a new subject which is Production Management, our faculty
for this subject too is Tony Sir. Sir shared some slide notes from his book “The
Art Of Animation Production Management” and took us through the journey of the
making, how he got inspired, how some girl instigated this thought in his mind
and how his knowledge from all the practical, hands on experience work got him
to write a book!
We
discussed many aspects of production management and how it doesn’t add on to
any of the badges that one carries but just safeguards one in the industry. We
also discussed and learned of how our opinions should always be a choice or an
option given to the client and we must always try to deliver what we are asked
to. We discussed how planning everything before starting any job is must, how
writing everything in a systematic order helps in working efficiently and most important
of all, how being humble towards learning and the working environment we
practise in helps set the morale of the and whole workspace.
A generic
pipeline is when an idea leads to a story that has performers in setting who
then lead to writing of the script. A script is then developed into a
screenplay which defines the performance and setting that expands into actors/
characterisation and also the visual design, look, art directions. Every step
above culminates in the creation of product/execution/production which then
undergoes or goes through distributors/ exhibitors and finally the AUDIENCE.
Post understanding
the generic pipeline of Production Management we watched a few movies to
understand the term pixilation. Few of them were actually so inspiring and intriguing
how different techniques are used to make a creative composition.
Ive attached
few of my notes from today’s lecture, stay tuned for further updates
:)
